Initiatic Travel to the
Heart of the World
Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta Colombia
With the Kogis, Arhuacos, Ima Nazca & Clara Sofia
18.03 - 24.03 2026
The heart of the world opens its doors to you for a Journey of Initiation to the Source of your heart. For this 7-day retreat, we will visit exclusive locations nestled between Caribbean beaches, rivers flowing down from snow-capped peaks, and the lush jungle where a Kogi village will welcome us and share its ancient traditions. Throughout this Journey of Initiation, representatives of the Arhuaco people will accompany us, sharing their ancestral wisdom and supporting us during this initiation to encounter our primal essence. To pave the way for this unique vibrational elevation, Ima Nazca, a music-medicine, will guide you to discover your true voice, transcend your limitations, and express your full individuality. And I, Clara Sofia, will be your guide and guardian, initiating you into the sacred cacao of the Sierra, to unite our hearts and release our fears with the Ikaros. I will begin each morning with guided meditation, allowing you to start the day centered and grounded. This Initiatory Journey takes place during the Equinox, an auspicious time to close and open a new cycle.
For the past eight years, I have been journeying throughout the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Over these years, I have forged bonds of trust and brotherhood with the Indigenous peoples who are the guardians of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, particularly the Kogi and the Arhuaco. I deeply love this land and am passionate about its ancestral wisdom, which offers powerful healing and biodiversity preservation techniques. I have profound respect for Indigenous peoples, and it is an honor for me to invite you to share this treasure. Another gift for this retreat is the participation of Ima Nazca, a medicine singer whose lyrics speak of the law of origin and the principles of ancient traditions. This retreat is therefore a convergence of beings who share the same vision: to live in harmony with one's true essence, with nature, and to unite ancestral and modern forces.
This vision is also shared by the JWAWIKA ANKUNYUKU’MANA association, which works to empower the indigenous peoples of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and to foster the exchange of knowledge between the Old and New Worlds. A portion of the retirement income will be donated to the association to support its projects focused on environmental preservation, culture, community economic development, and education.

Detailed Program
THE KOGI AND ARHUACOS
ANCESTRAL HEALING
Throughout the retreat, we will be immersed in the culture of the indigenous peoples, guardians of the heart of the world. Accompanied by Arhuaco and Kogi Mamos, we will be invited to participate in traditional purification and spiritual healing practices. The ancestral wisdom of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta is based on a system of pagamentos—payments to sacred sites. This is an offering to the spirits of nature who, through their ancestral techniques, allow us to receive healing in return. These practices are performed at sacred sites, which may be stones or rivers, depending on the specific practice. This spiritual work is a form of meditation and is performed with concentration. A material, often cotton, representing the world of thoughts, is used, and the individual places their thoughts into this material according to the Mamo's instructions. The Mamos perform constant acts of charity to maintain the planet's balance in the face of the abuses suffered by the Earth and its ecosystem.
We will have the opportunity to spend three days with the Kogi community and visit magical places in the mountains. We will also participate in talking circles, and weaving, an integral part of Sierra culture, will be demonstrated.
IMA NAZCA
MEDICINE MUSIC & VOICE WORKSHOPS
International medicine singer Ima Nazca will accompany us throughout the retreat. Ima Nazca's music draws from ancestral chants, inspired by the rhythms of nature and the wisdom of ancestral traditions. As an artist, she embodies the very essence of the Earth, offering a voice that resonates deep within the soul. Her music and poetry are a bridge to healing, remembrance, and the awakening of our true inner essence. Her concerts are rituals that transform collective spaces into profound and connected encounters, a shared journey that invites reflection, expanded consciousness, and the awakening of unity and universal love.
During the retreat, Ima Nazca will guide us through her vocal workshops, combining vocal and somatic exploration with traditional ritual practices. In a caring and trauma-aware space, we develop fluid communication between our physical, emotional, and mental bodies, offering participants tools to harmonize and balance their inner and outer worlds through sound and vibration.
CLARA SOFIA CURANDERA
ANCESTRAL CEREMONIES & SONGS
Clara Sofia Curandera, medicine woman and organizer of Initiatory Journeys to the Source. I will be there to accompany you throughout your journey on this Earth, which is my home. I will share with you my medicine, which offers karmic and transgenerational releases through ancestral songs and the activation of clarity with the cacao ceremony, meditation, and rituals at sacred sites. Healing is my passion, and I will be there as your guide and guardian to create a safe space so that you can release what holds you back from being in your true essence.
I will accompany you for private consultations with the Mamos and provide all translations from Spanish to French and English, depending on the group size. I advise you to come with an intention for this journey, an intention to improve your life and open your path. The Sierra Nevada is a powerful sacred territory that confronts us with ourselves, allowing us to see and heal. I will be there to support you, along with this wonderful team of four, throughout the retreat, as well as the Kogi community.
